Membership is open to anyone who is retired from full-time work and who has an interest in continuing to learn. You may join any of our special interest groups (space permitting) whether you are an expert or a complete novice wishing to develop a new interest.

The membership year is from 1st April to 31st March.

The full-year membership fee for 2020-2021 is £26 per member.
The 5 issues of the Third Age Matters magazine cost £3.10.

Page 2 is important and describes the Terms and Conditions of your membership. It includes the Privacy Statement & Consents regarding the use of your information, and how you can change your consents and information.

Page 1 is for you to complete and includes a section where you sign to accept the Terms of Membership, and where you can remove consents to your information being sent to the companies who distribute the Newsletter and Third Age Matters magazine.

Payment by cheque to Chess Valley U3A is the preferred payment method with payment by cash accepted only in face to face meetings. If neither of these methods is possible for you, please contact the membership secretary.

Please post the completed page 1, cheque, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Chess Valley membership secretary.  Your new membership cards with your membership numbers will be posted back to you together with further information welcoming you to the Chess Valley U3A.

Renewal Members

Now that we have the Simple Membership system, there is a clear picture of memberships and payments, and members can maintain their own personal details.

Therefore the renewal process no longer needs an application form.
Members have three options for renewing-

a) Send your cheque made payable to Chess Valley u3a (membership number on the reverse please) and an SAE to The Membership Secretary, 12 Warrender Road, Chesham HP5 3NE. 

b) Pay by cash or cheque and collect your card at General Meetings in March or April.

c) Pay by bank transfer, and either send SAE or collect at a general meeting. Please ensure the bank transfer includes your name and membership number, and send the membership secretary an email giving date of payment. TheCVu3a bank details are sort code 401769, account 51458108.

We are also introducing permanent cards rather than the previous annual cards, the new permanent card will be sent back to you in the SAE.
