The Thames Valley Network (TVN) is a network of U3As within the Thames Valley area designed to increase the communication between neighbouring U3As and encourage joint participation in events for their common benefit. There are 34 neighbouring U3As in the Thames Valley U3A Network who share a common interest in organising joint activities, events, seminars and conferences. These cover towns in Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire.

The TVN has been running since 2008 and has organised a number of study days and training days already for U3A members. The latest TVN sharing experience is the Thames Riverside Project that started with Planning Days in Spring 2010 and is due to run through to a Conference in Wellington College, Crowthorne in Autumn 2011. Members from U3As will combine to walk and study the Thames Path and its environs and study/survey the river and riverside. Those participating will include walkers, historians, photographers, naturalists, artists, engineers and industrial archaeologists.

Your Committee is supporting the TVN as it is seen as a helpful extra arm in offering our members additional wider interests and events to join in within a reasonable car journey travel time in the Thames Valley. We shall be participating in the joint organisation to access joint resources, contacts, and help in offering these additional events for our members.
